Star Brazilian jockey Joao Moreira is expected to recover from his hip injury in time to ride at the Longines Hong Kong International Races (HKIR) on December 11.
Moreira has committed to partnering Japanese raiders Resistencia in the Hong Kong Sprint and Lei Papale in the Hong Kong Cup, according to online publication Asian Racing Report.
Another galloper from the Land of the Rising Sun whom Moreira could find himself aboard is Glory Vase.
Moreira piloted the galloper to success in the 2019 and 2021 editions of the Hong Kong Vase, and the seven-year-old stayer is considered a strong chance to target a third win in the 2,400m feature.
Moreira has not ridden since September 21 and returned to Brazil in October after undergoing platelet-rich plasma therapy on his troublesome left hip.
Moreira expected to be out of the saddle for three months, but he will be back at least a fortnight ahead of schedule if he rides on December 11.
Moreira is yet to offer comment on his return, and it is not known whether he plans to ride before HKIR.
